Inspiration
The colour palette for this piece has definitely been influenced by my love of early comic books, and, by association, the work of the great Roy Lichtenstein.
The subject is based on my experience in 1982. I awoke to a small arachnid staring at me from my pillow. Unknown to me she had crept into my ear as I slept, and laid eggs in my brain. The subsequent paranoia and audio-visual hallucinations destroyed my life for the next 12 months.
Fortunately, close friends confided in 1983, that my condition, was the result of me 'consuming vast amounts of drugs and alcohol' . It had nothing to do with the spider whatsoever.
REVELATION!! What a lucky escape, Eh?
Description
